This section will publish recommendations, policy papers, policy contributions, and other outputs that support a responsible energy transition that is compatible with biodiversity.
Advocacy
The transition to renewable energy requires well-founded public policies, cross-sector collaboration, and dialogue between authorities, experts, the private sector, and civil society. Through the RENBAL project, we support the integration of biodiversity protection into the planning process and the designation of Renewable Acceleration Areas (RAA).
To support this process, the project will contribute to the creation and operation of a cross-sectoral working group bringing together representatives from public institutions, academia, civil society, and the private sector. Activities will include stakeholder mapping, development of the group's operational framework, working meetings, and continuous dialogue with decision-makers.
In addition, roundtables and parliamentary or ministerial-level debates will be organized to present the tools developed within the project and promote European best practices for responsible renewable energy development.
The project will also facilitate collaboration with other relevant sectors through networking activities, training workshops, and knowledge exchange. These will support the use of project outputs such as the ecological sensitivity map and the mitigation measures collection, and will help strengthen the capacity of institutions and stakeholders involved in responsible energy planning.
